There are several versions of windows speech recognition. This is the older one, which is less sophisticated in some ways, but works in more places. (edited)

Anyone on Windows 7 have any success? I'm unsure if it's this or my accent not coming through. It's most probably my accent though, I can't even use "Ok Google" with my phone, but it will pick up anyone else who just says "Ok" lol

If it's not turning yellow at all, double check in sound settings (in Windows) that you have a default audio input and output device selected, that the input is not muted, and that you are able to see the input level indicator moving.

You may also want to try uninstalling and reinstalling. That, weirdly, magically worked for at least one person.

Well, it only hangs when I try to do stuff with voice enabled. If I turn it back off it doesnt hang, but the icon sticks yellow, even after being disabled again.

Can you please check the windows event viewer logs to see if there are any errors related to speech recognition or speed synthesis? Refresh is hanging because we are waiting for the Microsoft speech recognition engine to stop, and judging by the fact that your microphone turns yellow immediately, the speech recognition system is in a VERY bad state.

Have you verified using another app that your microphone is not e.g. picking up or generating noise constantly?

The microphone only turns yellow when the recognition engine reports to the app that it is picking up audio that sounds like speech and is trying to recognize it. This makes me think that that is happening CONSTANTLY. (edited)

hey Saru very cool work on the voice tracking support. I tackled a similar problem (voice tracking for a bunch of dumb non-english words) with a site i made. I'm not sure what backend you're using, but I had a lot of luck improving recognition through some fuzzing engines. You might have all this stuff worked out already but if you'd like to chat about approaches I'm happy to do so

The voice tracking system uses Microsoft's dictation system, specifically the grammar-based version. Because I construct grammars dynamically for arbitrary game packs, outside of support alternate pronunciations (planned) when/where pack authors opt to add them, there's only so much that can be done. While the recognition is definitely sensitive to certain kinds of accents and rate of speech, I have found their recognizer to be pretty tolerant of things, which along with the fact that the grammar is fully specified, results in a reasonable success rate that's on par with other systems I've worked with.

I have a little problem with voice tracking, even if I active audio in the right bottom corner, nothing happened. Micro dont seem's to be ready. It dont pass yellow and tracker don't answer. Do you know how can I debug ? Micro works in discord and in windows.

@Darkwolf Make sure your microphone is set as your default audio input device in Windows sound settings, and if you had to change it, restart the tracker. Beyond that, it's alpha software and basically as is. You may also run into trouble on non-english installs of Windows - not sure if that might be affecting you.

There is apparently a bug right now where the spoken confirmation is incorrectly saying it failed to add ice traps. I suspect this applies to all consumable/countable things, and will issue a fix in the next few days.

So im not sure if this is a pack bug or a core bug, but using the official emosaru lttp keysanity item tracker, voice tracking only for swords doesnt update. I get the "upgraded sword by 1 step" confirmation, but the sword stays blank/at last level. Shields, mail, and every other item is fine, but not swords

Cyan is the new yellow. That said, voice tracking is alpha and provided as is. You can try doing the dictation training in windows, you may need to evaluate your mic audio quality (it matters a lot), watch the video in the pinned messages to see if you’re speaking too fast or too slow, and also if you’re running a non-English version of windows, you are likely out of luck entirely.

Mic quality and any number of things can affect it, potentially including running non-English versions of windows. There is a video in the pinned messages that may also be a good reference for speaking rate, etc. Beyond that, there’s not a lot of support I can provide.

Hi! I guess it is a known issue, but I've noticed two instances of voice tracking not working : - In ALTTP, with bow - In SMZ3 (the Ninban/Gilgatex version), with swords I get the confirmation from the tracker, but nothing appears on it. (edited)

Badges are an item attached to another item, so they have separate names. In the case of the checkmarks, it looks like Beenie has them named Hammer Brothers, Hammer Brothers Check, Croco 1, Croco 1 Check and so on.

Hey, im trying to get the voice tracking running but the microphone symbol stays white. Ive have selected the right input and output device in Windows and changed my language in Windows to english.
